This program combines an understanding of food and agricultural production with business fundamentals such as management, marketing, sales and finance. Students customize their education by focusing on areas of expertise such as entrepreneurship, equine management, food science and technology, horticulture, soil science, livestock management, or preparing for graduate school to name a few. Though the major focuses on agriculture, the concepts are broad enough to apply to business more generally. The flexibility of this major allows students to pursue any career path from owning their own business, joining a family-owned business or farm, working in the banking/finance sector, or seeking employment in large food or agribusiness firms.
